Dec 7 2007 November WCPO pre-emptions

WCPO pre-empted only one program in November. Of course, it was one I watch regularly, so I missed some things.
Thursday, Nov. 29, 8 p.m., Outta Control Christmas instead of Ugly Betty.
Meanwhile, WXIX had two pre-emptions:
Monday, Nov. 26, 8 p.m., college basketball instead of House and K-Ville. House aired at 11 p.m. that night and K-Ville at 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
I don't mind WXIX's pre-emptions because (1) I know it is something people actually watch and (2) the station shows the regular programming at 11 p.m., rather than at 2:30 a.m. the next morning like WCPO does.

dec 6 2007 october pre-emptions

Since October was high season for the new TV series, there was only one set of pre-emptions that month.
The storm on Thursday night, Oct. 18, was infuriating for TV viewers. This is what was pre-empted:
1. WKRC/CBS. WKRC broke into Viva Laughlin! three different times for a few minutes each beginning about 10 p.m. Fortunately, the station had the common sense to return to the show after the announcements. Since I stayed up, I noticed that it also showed Late Night With David Letterman beginning at 11:30 p.m.
2. I am very glad that I wasn’t watching the programming on WCPO/ABC or WLWT/NBC. Both stations broke into their regular 10 p.m. programming and never did return. They showed the same weather map and talking meteorologist head for the rest of the night. As I was still up, I noticed that not only did they not show their regular 11 p.m. news, they didn’t show the NBC and ABC programming at 11:30 p.m. either.

November 10, 2007, epier items

Last week, I officially unregistered with ebay. So I cannot go back there to buy or sell even if I wanted to, unless I change my user name, my computer and my email address. Fat chance of that happening!
I registered with epier several weeks ago. I've been adding one new item every Friday night, and since listing is free, every week I roll over the previous unsold items and start a new listing.
Unfortunately, I can't just create a link to my personal list. You'll need to go to epier.com, and then use the search button (not the little square for searching). Once you're on the search page, do a search by seller for skippercollector, and you'll see the stuff I have for sale.

I tried watching the following and quickly decided I wasn’t interested:
Aliens in America
Big Shots
Dirty Sexy Money
Gossip Girl
Pushing Daisies
Women’s Murder Club
I watched the entire pilot of Murder Club but didn’t find it that interesting. I watched between 5 and 10 minutes of the others and either I couldn’t make heads or tails of them or there were no likable characters. Pushing Daisies was the worst. Not only was it strange, there were too many details squeezed into the first 10 minutes. It was pretty obvious that the original pilot was two hours long, and all the information compressed before the first commercial had been part of a much longer story. The number of details about what the main character could and couldn’t do were just too confusing.

Friday, Sept. 14, 8 p.m., Living Healthy, American Shopper and Great Garlic Cook-Off instead of America’s Funniest Home Videos

WKRC:
Monday, Sept. 24, 8:30 p.m., the Bengals game (which was also airing on ESPN) instead of Two and a Half Men and some other CBS programming.
