MagiCloth paper dolls fade easily

I had never heard of MagiCloth paper dolls until I found this listing on etsy:

https://www.etsy.com/listing/989523537/1998-barbie-boutique-magicloth-doll?show_sold_out_detail=1&ref=nla_listing_details

The doll set dates from 1998.  MagiCloth is based in Concord, MA.  I'm not sure which Barbie the doll is but her clothing is from the 1998 Fashion Avenue line.

This is an odd set.  The blackboard is a magnet, and Barbie is semi-attached to it.  The board is the only magnetic piece.  The clothes are a paper/cloth combo, but I have no idea what the "fabric" actually is.  It looks like the coloring tends to fade over time, as what I received is lighter than what the etsy listing shows.  Perhaps the dye is being absorbed into the fabric?

There were two versions available, one called Fun Fashions, the other Chic Fashions, both made up of Fashion Avenues.  I think one of the purposes of this set is that it can be played with in the car, since the clothes stick to the doll.  This is my guess, but this seems to be a 21st century version of ColorForms.

The outfits included are Fashion Avenue 14980 Winter Dazzle, 16394, 18093, 18103,  18114, 18124, 18128, 18131, 18133 Fashion Date, 18134, 18136 School Spirit, 18377 and 18378.

A mannequin of Barbie stands in the shop window
waiting to be dressed.

There were two versions of the MagiCloth Barbie Boutique,
one called Fun Fashions, the other called Chic Fashions.

Unfortunately, MagiCloth outfits tend to fade over time.

Winter Dazzle was not just a Fashion Avenue outfit
but also a doll.
