The last Whitman boxed paper doll set that I own is Western Skipper, stock number 7411C and dated 1983. The box and doll are larger than the ones from the 1970s. All but one of the outfits are Whitman designs, and about half of them have a Western/rural/country theme.
The original Whitman boxed Barbie and family dolls came with a larger hard plastic ring stand. The boxed dolls from the mid-1970s onward come with a smaller square plastic stand that does not support the doll as well and it requires a bit of finagling to get the doll erect.
There is also a boxed Western Barbie paper doll set which I do not own. |
Western Skipper is a more mature looking paper doll. |
The only Mattel outfit with this set is the upper left red shirt and jeans, which is what Western Skipper was sold in. |
