The first of Barbie's designer gowns, #7092 Springtime Magic, appears in both the Crystal Barbie and Barbie & Ken paper doll sets from 1984. I am writing about these two at the same time because they have many similarities.
Crystal Barbie is #1983-46 and includes Fashion Fun, Fashion Fantasy, one Twice as Nice, one Spectacular Fashion and one My First dress. Barbie & Ken (note the ampersand) is #1527 and features Twice as Nice outfits for the both of them, #7438 Silver Sensation and the original gowns for Crystal, Twirly Curls and Angel Face.

I don't think this is supposed to represent any particular Barbie doll.

Whitman usually bases its paper dolls on actual dolls, but this is a generic Ken.

Ken wears a Whitman tuxedo and Barbie is in #4821 Double Date.

The drawing does not capture the shimmer of her Crystal gown.

Crystal Barbie paper doll wears shiny undergarments based upon her gown.

Many 1984 outfits were very "yuppie" looking!

I don't like that Crystal Barbie wink. It would have been more appropriate for the Western Barbie paper doll.
