feb 9 2008, new epier auction

I'm trying something a little different with my new sale item this week. It's for my 22-year-old surfer's windbreaker that I bought at a Myrtle beach surf shop in 1986. Every time I wore it, someone would ask me about it. It was one of the coolest pieces of clothing I ever owned, but it no longer fits and it's too awesome to give to a thrift store.

Feb. 3, 2008, January WCPO pre-emptions

WCPO behaved itself--somewhat--in January, for I found only three pre-emptions:
Thursday, Jan. 10, 8 p.m., Fighting for Life instead of Ugly Betty
Friday, Jan. 18, 9 p.m., Fighting for Life instead of Desperate Housewives
Wednesday, Jan. 23, Living Healthy at 8 p.m. and Winter Wonderland at 8:30 p.m. instead of Wife Swap

I have a sneaking suspicion that once the networks run out of new episodes of many of its programs because of the writers' strike, WCPO will cancel ABC's schedule entirely.

You know, I wouldn't complain so much if WCPO actually ran something that was interesting! And "interesting" does not include Billy Graham specials or health programming. If Channel 9 wanted to air reruns of old shows from the 60s, 70s or 80s on a regular basis (and that means anything BUT The Andy Griffith Show, The Beverly Hillbillies, Friends, I Love Lucy, Leave it to Beaver, Seinfeld or The Simpsons, since all of those shows' episodes have aired at least 10,000 times), I might be willing to watch the station.

Feb. 1, 2008, new epier item

The doll I have put for sale this week on epier is Fashion Friend Pretty Teen from 1991. She is the same size as the Teen Fun Skipper and Courtney dolls.
Kmart sold two exclusive Barbie family dolls in 1991. There were two versions of the Barbie-sized doll, Swimsuit Fashion Friend and Party Dress Fashion Friend. Her sister was Pretty Teen, who wasn't all that well-known to begin with and is now rather hard to find.
